Highlights from the International Review of Neurobiology Report, Acupuncture Edition

Recently, the Healthcare Market Research Reports released a 2018 version of the country’s full breakdown on healthcare sectors.  Previous reports were written about new trends in medicine with the growth and development of new procedures that have made an impact on how patients with certain conditions receive treatment.  In that year’s report, the main focus was on acupuncture.

At the start, the book talks about the basics of acupuncture and what its purpose is, being a natural way of helping the body systems resolve pain and inflammation in different ways. It also emphasizes how it affects the body’s nervous system with subjects like neurotrophin and neurogenesis within the brain.  Towards the latter half of the book, the chapters dive into the effects and benefits of acupuncture on multiple conditions.  This includes neurological conditions like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, complications following a stroke, psychiatric conditions including depression and insomnia, high blood pressure, digestive issues, and various drug addictions.

The book also further explains what this form of alternative medicine can do and the research that can be explored in the coming years. The International Review of Neurobiology offers groundbreaking research on the subject of acupuncture, reviewing current  knowledge as a starting point for all researchers and doctors in their respective medical fields. From here, acupuncturists can expand on their research of the many applications of acupuncture.
